Mission

Our mission is to provide, through professional leadership and voluntary citizen action, the development and promotion of quality integrated educational opportunities for suburban students and for students from the Greater Boston community, and to work towards the expansion of a collaborative education program.  It is our belief that the METCO experience should provide a strong academic foundation in an environment rich in culture, educational, ethnic and racial diversity.

Purpose

• To provide the opportunity for an integrated public school education for students of color from Boston and for the students of Belmont.
• To provide a new learning experience for suburban children.
• To foster closer understanding and cooperation between urban and suburban parents and other citizens in the Metropolitan Boston area.
