COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Do you need help paying your rent?

This program helps Belmont renters who lost income and are having trouble paying rent as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants are eligible for up to three months residential rental assistance. If you are a Belmont resident in need of assistance, apply to this program. Also call 211 to learn if your household is eligible for state-funded resources.

An eligible renter household is one who: 

  • Currently lives in Belmont.
  • Has reduced income because of COVID-19.
  • Has annual income at the time of application at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). Preference will go to households with 60% AMI or below.
  • Households receiving a subsidy from another rental assistance program are not eligible (Section 8, public housing, Massachusetts Rental Voucher program or similar).

  • TYY users please call 711. FREE translation assistance is available.
  • Application Drive-Up Assistance – Complete an application with staff or drop off your documents! Rain or Shine! Monday, October 26th 4-6pm at 59 Pearson Road Belmont.
  • Lottery will occur after the November 10th deadline. Applications received after the deadline will be added to the waitlist and assistance will be awarded until funds are exhausted.
