Recommendations for Winter Celebrations

Dear BPS families and Staff,

We understand that this year's holiday season will be very different for our students and families, with beloved family traditions needing to change in order to stay safe. With everyone abiding by the Center for Disease Control (CDC)  health protocols this season, the outlook for getting back into school in January and keeping our community healthy and uncompromised is more promising.

Travel specific highlights from the CDC and Belmont’s Health Department include:

  • Consider getting tested 1-3 days before your trip;
  • Fill out the Massachusetts Travel Form
  • Quarantine until you can produce a negative PCR test
  • Stop the Spread Provides FREE COVID testing
  • Forward the test results to your school nurse
  • Reduce non-essential activities for a full 7 days after travel, even if your test is negative; and
  • If you don’t get tested, reduce non-essential activities for 10 days after travel.

On behalf of Janice, Mike and I wish you a happy, healthy, and well-deserved December break.

Respectfully,

John Phelan
Superintendent
