I write to inform you about new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in our school community.  We received confirmation from the Belmont Department of Health today, 1/15/2021, regarding these cases. This is what we know for certain at this time: The Department of Health received confirmation of a laboratory testing report indicating that six school community members (i.e., student or staff) -- at the Mary Lee Burbank Elementary School (1), W.L. Chenery Middle School (3) and Belmont High School (2) -- have been diagnosed with positive cases of COVID-19.

I write to inform you about new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in our school community.  We received confirmation from the Belmont Department of Health today, 1/14/2021, regarding these cases. This is what we know for certain at this time: The Department of Health received confirmation of a laboratory testing report indicating that four school community members (i.e., student or staff) -- at the Winn Brook Elementary School (2), W.L. Chenery Middle School (1) and Belmont High School (1) -- have been diagnosed with positive cases of COVID-19.

We are pleased to announce BPS offers free tuition for kindergarten. Important registration information for current BPS families: You do not need to register a grade 1-12 existing Belmont Public Schools student again. You do need to register your incoming kindergartner even if you are a current Belmont Public Schools family. To ensure placement of your incoming kindergartner at the same elementary school as your grade 1-4 child, please submit all required documents to complete registration for your incoming kindergartner by April 9.

It is unfortunate my first communication to you in this new year follows the unexpected and unprecedented events that occurred yesterday at the U.S. Capitol. As a Superintendent, I am concerned how events such as these impact our children’s well-being. With this concern in mind, we emailed our staff last night and provided resources to support conversations they may have today with students, recognizing that hearing about and seeing images of these types of violent events can cause stress and anxiety.

Meal pick up will still be open at BHS during our hybrid models from 7:30AM to 9:30AM every school day. It is the SAFEST and most efficient way to get meals to our student body. Please note we will continue through the upcoming models until guidance is released to safely feed students in an unrestricted setting in our cafeterias.
