This panel, featuring Matt Bennett, Beth Chin, and moderated by Lisa Gibalerio, will explore the following: How do we process this trauma? For ourselves and with our children. The FBE has partnered with Jayne’s Flowers to spread a little sunshine throughout Belmont. For the month of April, you can order a beautiful bouquet of daffodils, and FBE volunteers will hand-deliver them anywhere in Belmont. What a great chance to spread some cheer and let a special person, family, school, or business know that you are thinking of them. Not only will you  brighten up someone’s day, you will be supporting FBE grants, programs, and services in the process.

Support and Solidarity

Support and Solidarity

date 3/19/2021
Dear Belmont Community, The Belmont Public Schools Equity Team and all BPS educators and staff are saddened and disappointed by current events targeting Asians, Asian-Americans, Pacific Islanders. Six Asian-American women were brutally murdered at work in Atlanta. This is one very jarring example that comes during a year of increased scapegoating and racism against the Asian community. We won’t tolerate this in our schools or in our community and will work against it. We stand up against all types of racism and stand in solidarity with our Asian community.

There are no easy answers as we battle COVID-19. I want to personally thank Belmont Public School educators for their tireless and extraordinary work on behalf of our children. I also want to thank the families of Belmont for the grace they have shown--and continue to show--as we work through this devastating public health crisis.
