Send a beautiful pot of daffodils anywhere in Belmont, hand-delivered by a FBE volunteer. Superintendent Screening Committee updates and Focus Group Opportunities

The Belmont Superintendent Screening Committee began its work to recruit a new Superintendent of Schools. A summary of work may be found on the Superintendent Screening page of the Belmont Public Schools website. The Screening Committee will conduct a series of virtual focus groups for students, staff, and families. Participants will be asked for input on what they consider to be the most effective characteristics for the district's next superintendent. This will be a time commitment of 75-90 minutes.

The Belmont School Committee put out a request for quotes for a collaborative executive search firm to work with the School Committee and the community in recruiting a new Superintendent of Schools to be selected by the end of March, 2023. The Bryan Group was selected by the School Committee

The Belmont Public School’s Food & Nutrition Department would like to update you with exciting news about universal free school meals. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has extended free school meals for all students through the 2022-2023 school year! This means that every student is eligible to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day. All additional meals outside the first breakfast and lunch will be charged along with the school’s current meal rates.

I write to share some important leadership news for the Chenery Middle School during this upcoming school year. As you know from our previous correspondence, Ms. Koza will be moving to a new role as "Director of District Configuration Transition" for the 2022-2023 school year. In that capacity, she will focus on leading the evolution of a 9-12 BHS building to a 7-12 BMHS building by September, 2023. It is with great enthusiasm that I announce that Nicolette A. Foundas has been named her successor as the “Interim 5-8 Chenery Middle School Principal” for the 2022-2023 school year. She will assume this role effective 8/8/2022.
