The Belmont Health Department is excited to begin offering COVID-19 vaccinations to the newly eligible children ages 5-11. This age group is now authorized to receive the pediatric dosage of Pfizer vaccine, in the two-dose timeline 21 days apart.

Brief update Routine COVID Safety Checks. BPS has completed 2 weeks of Routine COVID Safety Checks (pooled testing) in our elementary schools and implemented the take-home nasal swab collection for our fifth graders this week.

We are happy to remind you that we are working with VaxinateRx and Healthcare Family Pharmacy to offer the 2nd COVID-19 vaccination clinic. VacinateRx will offer 2 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination series to our students' ages 12 and up

BPS Test and Stay information. Great news from BPS nursing, Test and Stay was successful with a pilot at one of our elementary schools and will be available throughout the district beginning October 13, 2021.

Symptom checker and mitigations. As we prepare for the return to school, we will continue to highlight some Health and Safety guidelines and practices that will be implemented at the start of school. Supporting the safety of our students, teachers, staff, and community is our most important mutual priority. We will continue to work in collaboration to update and refine our guidance for schools as science evolves.

COVID test information and consent. Thank you for your continued support as we kick off the 2021-2022 school year. At Belmont Public Schools, keeping your students safe and in school is our top priority. We have learned a great deal over this past year and our current guidance and procedures reflect the most updated recommendations from the CDC and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Reminder COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic. We are happy to announce that we are partnering again with Pelmeds Pharmacy to offer a second clinic for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination to our students ages 12 and up. Their team of vaccinators will come to our schools to administer the vaccine.
