School Offices Summer Hours:

Elementary schools offices are open by call or email Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and on Friday from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Currently, our school offices available to answer questions by phone or email only.

High school office is open in person or by email Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 2:30pm and on Friday from 7:30am until 1:00pm. Occasionally, principal and secretaries may be out on a given day, therefore, we recommend that you always call the office in advance to be sure that someone is available in person.

This family-friendly exhibit is a wonderful collection of both 2 and 3 dimensional art that celebrates animals, insects, birds, plants and gardens. Children and adults alike will enjoy the show. (The gallery is open 1-4 during Town Day. And it’s air-conditioned!)

Congratulations to our high school seniors who graduated on June 4. We wish our graduates well in their future endeavors. We also want to congratulate and recognize our eighth grade class who move up to the high school, and our fourth grade class who will move up to Chenery. At this time, we want to thank the Belmont Public Schools staff, families, and our town and school partners for all they do to support our students throughout the school year.

I write to inform you that new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in our school community. Week of 6/15/2022: Thirty-seven (37) new COVID-19 positive cases in the district: (5) Belmont High School, (23) Chenery Middle School, (1) Burbank Elementary School, (4) Butler Elementary School, and (4) Wellington Elementary School.

Summer Reading Lists 2022
The Summer Reading Lists are a joint project of the Belmont Public Schools and the Belmont Public Library. They are designed to encourage students in Belmont to make reading a habit, raising both their interest in and level of reading. These books and works from authors are available to view in print and as e-books and e-audiobooks that can be borrowed free of charge from the Belmont Public Library’s collections in Libby and in Hoopla.

Every public school district, charter school, vocational school, and virtual school in Massachusetts is reviewed regularly by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Public School Monitoring. As explained on their website, their vision is “Equitable outcomes for all students,” and their mission states that they “serve students by conducting data analyses and reviews of special education and civil rights policies, procedures, and practices in order to support district efforts to build equitable and inclusive educational systems that meet the diverse needs of all students.”

The month of May should be renamed "Appreciation Month." We are so fortunate to have dedicated and caring staff within the Belmont Public Schools, and we were happy to recognize them during teacher/staff appreciation week on May 2-6 (where families contributed snacks and goodies to schools), the FBE Outstanding Teacher Awards on May 5, and Staff Recognition day on May 10 (see below).

I write to inform you that new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in our school community. One hundred and eight (108) new COVID-19 positive cases in the district: (19) Belmont High School, (25) Chenery Middle School, (4) Burbank Elementary School, (23) Butler Elementary School, (7) Winn Brook Elementary School, and (30) Wellington Elementary School.
