January 30th Newsletter

As you know the amount of snow we received earlier in the week was extraordinary and troublesome to plow, shovel and remove.  The Belmont Public schools custodian and facilities department members were extraordinary in their efforts to ensure our schools were ready to open.  Thanks to them and to our Director of Facilities Gerry Boyle and Assistant Director of Facilities Fred Domenici for their leadership.  In addition, my thanks to out to our town Department of Public Works for such a well-coordinated effort under such difficult conditions, and our residents who cleared the sidewalks for our students to be able to get to school.

Please take care in coming to schools, as some sidewalks may still be impassable and the high snow limiting visibility for walkers and cars on the roads.

It was my pleasure to recently be part of and speak to several PTO/PTA meetings.  What a wonderful crowd of dedicated parents we have in Belmont, who do such great work and are so important to our schools.  I look forward to continuing to meet with these groups during the school year.
