. Two parents will be selected to serve on the committee.
ABOUT THE SCREENING COMMITTEE
The role of the screening committee is to recommend semi-finalists to the Principal. They make recommendations after reviewing and considering all of the applicants and conducting interviews of selected candidates. The screening committee is made up of the principal, educators, and parent representatives.
The number of days the committee’s work spans is relatively short, though intense in that we will pack a lot into each meeting. The meetings will take place before the end of the school year. The meetings include:
- an organizational brainstorming meeting (approximately 1.5 hours)
- a meeting to determine candidates to be interviewed and interview questions (approximately 2-2.5 hours)
- 2-3 days for interviews (usually three hours/day and five hours on the final day to include deliberation and selection of semi-finalists)
- a debrief meeting to recommend finalists for the position
In addition to the meetings, committee members commit to doing a fair amount of work outside of meetings, including reading applications, reviewing materials, and other related email communication.
To participate in the committee, members must commit to the entire process, most certainly attending all interviews.
