Our Principal

Welcome to Marisa Boyajian the Mary Lee Burbank School Interim Principal

I am so happy to be part of the Burbank Elementary School Community.

Let me tell you a little about myself:

My collegiate journey began at Merrimack College where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After working as a Special Education 1:1 Aide, I realized quickly that I needed to start on my teaching path. Subsequently, I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Endicott College. My career began in Lawrence Public Schools serving as 4th grade teacher, math and science coach, and then Elementary Principal for the next 18 years before moving on to Woburn Public Schools. Three years ago, I made a professional leap from school principal to Human Resources Director for the Woburn School District. As this year marks my 25th (!) year in public education, I will always be grateful for the opportunity to apply and challenge my educational leadership skills in other capacities as well as acquire many new ones. However, my heart and true calling remains with teaching, learning, and school leadership. I feel I am a better educator and leader as a result of this leap.

when I am not working, I love spending every minute with my family and friends, going to Celtics games, sitting around the kitchen table or watching movies. I also prioritize my health and wellness by taking fitness and weight training classes…and have even become an avid pickle baller!
