Section 59C of chapter 71 of the General Laws: "The principal of each school, in consultation with the school council established pursuant to this section, shall on an annual basis…develop and submit for approval by the district superintendent and school committee a plan for improving student performance. Plans shall be prepared in a manner and form prescribed by the department of elementary and secondary education and shall conform to any policies and practices of the district consistent therewith."
Mission Statement: At Chenery Middle School, we cultivate a joyful inclusive anti-bias school culture with high expectations for all students, educators and families that builds upon the collective capacity of staff, encourages reflection and thoughtful discussion, celebrates successes, de-colonizes the curriculum, eliminates racism, and emphasizes effort.
Vision Statement: Our vision is to empower all students, regardless of race, gender, religion, culture, or economic background, to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value knowledge and skills that will support them, as lifelong learners, to participate in and contribute to the global world and practice the positive behavior expectations of our school: be respectful, be responsible, and be ready to learn.
